Confirm the fit before you buy
Every modern gas Camry uses a Group 35 case with top-post terminals and wants roughly 590 to 640 cold cranking amps.
Group 35 is the number that has to match, because a battery of a different size will not clamp down safely.
Pop the hood and read the label on your old battery to be sure, since trims and years vary.
Flooded or AGM
A standard flooded battery is fine for an older Camry in a mild climate. If your Camry has stop-start, common on 2018-and-newer cars, buy an AGM battery instead.
Stop-start cycles the battery hard, and a flooded unit wears out early in that job. AGM also holds up better to short trips and heavy accessory loads.
How to install it
Disconnect the negative terminal first, then the positive, swap the battery, and reconnect the positive first.
On a stop-start Camry the shop may need to register the new battery to the charging system, so budget for that if you are not comfortable doing it yourself.
How we picked
We ranked only Group 35 batteries that fit the Camry, scored on published cold cranking amps, warranty length, price, and owner-reported reliability.
We do not bench-test batteries, so this is a fit, spec, and value ranking, not a lab score, and a reviewing technician checked the fitment before it went live.
Once the battery is sorted, the rest of Camry ownership is easy.
Check the years to avoid before buying a used one, and read the full reliability record for the other parts worth budgeting for.
